Deepavali is also known as the Festival of Lights. We kicked-off our celebration by designing and making our ‘kolam art’. We observed the traditional way of making ‘kolam’ starting by grinding the rice into rice flour and colouring them with food dyes. It was then used to fill in the lines of our ‘kolam’ design to produce a magnificent looking swan. The students were surely proud of their masterpiece.
The school was filled and decorated with all the vibrant colours and the whole school came arrayed in exquisite traditional Indian wear.
Our dear students also performed very intricate traditional Indian dance that left the audience in awe. We also got the chance to devour in authentic Indian cuisines such as briyani, chicken varuval, murukku and jilebi. The food was literally gone in second!
